{"id":2188,"date":"2024-07-17T11:53:57","date_gmt":"2024-07-17T11:53:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/omoluabiprogressives.com\/?p=2188"},"modified":"2024-07-17T11:54:06","modified_gmt":"2024-07-17T11:54:06","slug":"omoluabi-progressives-stakeholders-tasked-on-strengthening-membership-base","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/omoluabiprogressives.com\/omoluabi-progressives-stakeholders-tasked-on-strengthening-membership-base\/","title":{"rendered":"Omoluabi Progressives Stakeholders Tasked On Strengthening Membership Base"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><strong>As Leadership Holds Seminar For Local Excos On Party Management, Political Mobilisation<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stakeholders and leaders of the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/omoluabiprogressives.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Omoluabi Progressives<\/a>, a caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Osun State, have again resolved to further work assiduously to attract bigwigs and heavyweights from other political leanings in the state to the fold.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They also pledged to continuously engage critical players in the politics of Osun to boost its membership drive to return to the governance of the state in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was the submission of participants at a seminar for local government and federal constituency executives on party management, participatory governance, and political mobilisation, organised by the state coordinating team of the caucus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at the seminar, a foremost pro-democracy activist, Comrade Segun Mayegun noted that it is only the politics of true progressivism that can save Nigeria from its current quagmire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mayegun, who spoke on Power, Politics, and Governance, stressed the need for the entrenchment of the participatory model of governance in Nigeria\u2019s politics, adding that it is the major missing link in the country\u2019s search for prosperity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He, however, called on members of the Omoluabi Progressives to remain resolute in their bid to entrench real progressivism in the governance of Osun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.osundefender.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-07-17-at-12.27.05_42445ef0-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-405501\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.osundefender.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-07-17-at-12.27.02_5cf50141-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-405509\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The activist said, \u201cThe best model of politics and governance is the one that carries the people along in every strata. Such a model is workable because it brings people irrespective of their status together to work for the common good of the society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.osundefender.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-07-17-at-12.27.05_c2ed9147-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-405502\" style=\"width:840px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe true tenets of progressive politics are rooted in character, competence, integrity, empathy, and an uncommon love for the development of the downtrodden. It is one that places a premium on mass prosperity for development. I am happy that this is at the core of the Omoluabi Progressives caucus. This is what you should all promote as leaders and grassroots mobilisers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am confident that this tendency represents the true progressives and what those who formed it stood for throughout their sojourn in the political space. We cannot shy away from this critical role of leadership. I can boldly say that the Omoluabi Progressives is the only tendency in this era that represents that clan from the old order. This is why you must all work to realise its vision.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Presenting his paper on Party Management and Mobilisation Outline, a chieftain of the caucus in Osogbo Local Government, Mr. Muyideen Olateju shared strategies for the effective harnessing of like minds and politically savvy individuals to the fold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>READ:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.osundefender.com\/feature-100-ex-pdp-accord-members-join-omoluabi-progressives\/\">100 Ex-PDP, Accord Members Join Omoluabi Progressives&nbsp;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Noting that the guidelines of engagement for the stakeholders and coordinators of the caucus across the state are the best template so far, Olateju harped on the need for relentless engagement of the people especially at the grassroots for the sustainable success of the caucus activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his goodwill message, a former Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola reiterated how important it is for every member of the Omoluabi Progressives to fully key into the Omoluabi ethos for the easy propagation of the tendency\u2019s goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aregbesola also admonished the participants at the workshop to key into the ethics of party management and political mobilisation, as the continued addition of grassroots politicians to the camp will make the mission to return to governance of the state possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The immediate-past Minister of Interior noted that, \u201cWe are in this training to know more about party management, participatory governance and all-round transformative ideas on mobilisation. It is key to this caucus because of the important journey we are set for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur resolve is that everyone who calls himself a member of the Omoluabi Progressives must be refined in character, thinking, competence, and have the leadership traits marked by the ethos of a true Omoluabi. I am happy that we have so far toed this path of honour and integrity. We must continue to represent this ethos if we want to succeed in this journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am inspired by the successes we have achieved so far, but we need to do more. I am sure that by the end of this session, we will have the required skills needed to further our assignment. Be assured that God and the people are with us. By the grace of the Almighty, we shall succeed,\u201d Aregbesola stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of Omoluabi Progressives, Alhaji Azeez Adesiji said the caucus is exploring innovations and strategic models to achieve its aim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adesiji who hinted that the training will be periodic and decentralised to equip its human resources intellectually and prepare them for the task ahead urged participants to maximise the ideas from the seminar to achieve results in their respective assignments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He commended the massive turnout so far at the ongoing membership registration of the caucus, urging the participants at the workshop to deepen their mobilisation efforts so that the Omoluabi tendency can reclaim the state in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two of the participants at the workshop, Hon. Shariat Olaniyi from Ayedaade Local Government and Hon.
