Leaders of the leading political organisation in Osun State, Omoluabi Progressives, have urged members of the tendency to remain focused and united on the mission to reclaim the state in 2026.
They also canvassed for further aggressive mobilisation to the fold to strengthen its base for the task ahead.
Speaking at the March monthly stakeholders meeting of Omoluabi Progressives in Ilesa, on Sunday, former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola lauded members for their dexterity and steadfastness.
He expressed confidence in the ability of the tendency to deliver responsible leadership to the people of the state.
Aregbesola also reiterated the need for continuous galvanisation of grassroots politicians into the fold, with a view to solidifying the existing structure ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
The former Governor of Osun said, “I am more than happy that all of you have remained steadfast and resilient in our mission to further entrench the progressive ideology in our dear state. I am proud of you.
“We are resolute in our aspiration to move Osun forward. The dream is big and we are more than convinced that God is with us. Our belief that we will triumph at the end is so strong.
“We must also redouble our efforts at strengthening our mobilisation efforts to ensure that our tendency is more than formiddable to achieve the task ahead.
“We must also stand united. We must continue to preach our core values of integrity, courage, character and competence. Our journey to the promised land is non-negotiable. Go all out and work for the success of our collective aspiration,” Aregbesola noted.
Chairman, Omoluabi Progressives, Alhaji Azeez Adesiji appreciated members of the tendency for their commitment to the fold.
Adesiji, who applauded the mobilisation efforts of members urged them not to allow divisive tendencies in the tendency’s rank and file.
“I cannot but thank you all enough for complying with our directive to stay-off the last local government election in Osun. The compliance level was remarkable. This shows that we are ready to take up the gauntlet to reclaim our state as true Progressives.
“As we journey on, let us shun all forms of divisive tendencies. Let us remain united. We have provided mechanisms for continuous dialogue with the leadership of the tendency. We are sure that we will emerge victorious if we are more than determined for the task ahead.
In their separate remarks, former Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Olugbemi Dele, former Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Dr. Najeem Salaam and a former Secretary to Osun State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti admonished members of Omoluabi Progressives to remain committed to the true tenets of progressivism.
